St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center of Madison, NJ (in coordination with Wings of Rescue) is helping to relocate at least 100 dogs from Texas shelters in response to Hurricane Harvey. Clearing the Texas shelters will allow space for pets displaced by the storm, keeping them close to their owners to enhance the likelihood of reconnecting with their families.
As of Tuesday, August 29, 78 dogs arrived in Morristown on a flight from San Antonio, TX. After the animals are logged, given a check-up, and given some time to rest, these dogs (previously up for adoption in Texas) will be distributed to sister shelters across the Northeast continuing their search for forever homes.
